Betfair Redemption is a piece of betting software that according to the creator Simon Jenkins, is able to predict the winners of horse races from around the world. It is able to do this he claims with a strike rate of 94.8%, something that if true is astonishing. I say if true because there is quite a lot of doubt surrounding not just this, but several aspects of the copy for Betfair Redemption. For example, Simon Jenkins says that Betfair Redemption uses a scientifically proven method, but he does nothing to elaborate or provide even the most basic of evidence. This doesn’t just apply to this claim though, it is the same with the alleged strike rate with no proofing whatsoever on offer. Read more

The Bookie Assassin is a horse racing tipster service created by James Morris. The service seems to be a pretty basic affair and this is generally reflected in the results. The strike rate for The Bookie Assassin stands at 33.21% based off an average 88 selections per month. Whilst the strike rate isn’t exactly mind blowing the average BSP is 4.31 which means that The Bookie Assassin is still able to generate some profit (something I’ll look at later). The selection process for The Bookie Assassin seems to be rather heavily steeped in form and statistical analysis as well as drawing on the general experience of the creator who claims to have 14 years of successful betting behind him. Women Can’t Serve is a tennis based betting system that has been created by Matt Houghton to exploit what he views as a pattern in women’s games. Essentially Women Can’t Serve is based around the statistic that women’s tennis has more double faults than men’s tennis and that this has an effect on the way bets are placed. Matt Houghton sends out a list of games to watch to users and then further updates you via SMS as to when trades should be made and which player to bet on etc. This is rather refreshing as it eliminates any guess work. What is the product?

Screw Work Let’s Play is a series of anecdotes, case studies and general advice composed into a book by author John Williams. The book is all about finding ways of doing what you love for a living and how to implement them. The content itself is pretty well written but the content is where Screw Work Let’s Play looks to fall down a little bit. I should say at this point that I am generally on the cynical side when it comes to self help books and despite approaching Screw Work Let’s Play with an open mind, I didn’t find John Williams did much to sway me. The issue lies in the fact that there is generally a bit of a vague feel to Screw Work Let’s Play with a lack of what I would call concise instructions on how to achieve the ultimate goal. Read more
