Created by Steve Hudson, Champion Bets is an independent sports betting service that focuses on football and the Asian Handicap betting market.
What is the product?
Champion Bets is definitely a niche tipster service focusing on a single market in a single sport. In this case it is Asian Handicaps and football, a combination that I have seen before and has been known to produce decent results. If you aren’t familiar with Asian Handicap bets (which I don’t really believe that most average punters will be), they essentially alter odds by handicapping bigger clubs so that they have to win by a larger goal margin. Whilst selection aren’t daily (namely down to the scheduling of football), there are typically a fair amount of tips released. These are predominantly in Europe with the majority being English and Dutch football with International games also covered. Steve Hudson advises staking of 1-5 points although most are 3 points and above. Average odds come in at 2.03 points which isn’t bad when you consider that the majority of selections that Champion Bets advises are in favour of bigger clubs. This method has produced an alleged strike rate of 65% which is respectable. Unfortunately the actual selection method that Steve Hudson uses for Champion Bets isn’t ever discussed however looking at the tips that have been sent out there is a pattern. Champion Bets appears to be focused on games in which there is a clear favourite, typically backing the bigger team to win by a smaller margin. This allows you to tip the odds more favourably to you as a punter.
What is the investment vs. the rate of return?
Compared to some of the larger tipster services out there Champion Bets is very reasonably priced. Subscriptions are offered on a monthly or annual basis and come in at £14.95 and £67 respectively. If you try to close the page you will also receive an option to try the service for free. Furthermore, because it is sold through Clickbank Champion Bets also benefits from a 60 day money back guarantee which most tipsters don’t offer. In terms of profit, Steve Hudson advertises Champion Bets as having made £12,633.50 since the last day of August however this is based around £100 per point staking. This is well out of most people’s range so I have calculated it as a point profit of 126.33 which is still a fair amount working out at a monthly average of 25.26 points.
Does the product provide value for money?
From what I have seen so far, Champion Bets offers a decent record for the cost. With that in mind I feel that it probably does reflect value for money.
Conclusion
The market for football tipster services is vast and varied in terms of what is on offer and quality. Whilst Champion Bets isn’t anything particularly new in the theory, it has produced a solid set of results so far. Whilst I feel that Champion Bets is definitely worth your consideration there are a few things that must be addressed. The first is that due to the high stakes nature of the Champion Bets, you can see 10 points plus taken out of your profits on a bad run. Second and arguably the more pressing issue is that this is still a new service. Whilst Steve Hudson is doing well so far, it has been less than 6 months since launch.
