Back the Best provides users with an average of 1-2 selections per day. The tipsters behind Back the Best do however state that this isn’t a guarantee and that some days there may be no tips whilst other days may have 3-4. This is because Back the Best is a selective service that focuses on selecting value bets. Whilst the exact selection process isn’t detailed, it would appear that Back the Best draws heavily on form and statistical analysis. This is backed up in a statement made by the tipsters behind Back the Best where they state that they do not makes selections based on insider information, nor do they have any connections with stables. Back the Best follows a 2 point per bet staking system with both points staked on a win bet or 1 point each way for each way bets. What is the product?

As with most betting systems, Betting Samurai is a downloadable PDF that shows users the formula that Trevor Hawkins developed. Ultimately, this is allegedly based on an algorithm discovered by a computer program created by Trevor Hawkins. This was all allegedly part of a larger group (including James Talbot) that were trying to create a system to beat the bookies. Unfortunately outside of James Talbot’s story we don’t find out anything about, nor do we hear about how Trevor Hawkins stumbled on this betting system that is at the centre of Betting Samurai. Interestingly James Talbot claims that Betting Samurai is 100% risk free and 100% proven, neither of which claim is really backed up in any way. Finally, access to Betting Samurai is restricted and only 50 copies will be made available to the general public. Read more

What is the product?

The Lay Advisor is a tipster service providing specialised lay betting selections for horse races across the UK. The Lay Advisor is not a daily service with Anthony Adams saying that when selections are available notifications will be sent to subscribers before 1pm. As well as detailing the selections, The Lay Advisor also provides advice on staking (up to 10 point stakes). Although the actual selection method isn’t discussed which is a shame, Anthony Adams does go on to say that he is able to recognise value. That having been said he also goes on to say that there is a lot about horse racing that he doesn’t know about. To me this makes The Lay Advisor something of a massive gamble. Finally, as The Lay Advisor is a lay betting system, a betting exchange account is a requirement. If you are unfamiliar with betting exchanges arguably the most well-known example is Betfair. What is the product?

7 Day Winners is a tipster service operated by Yuri Belyanev whom, if you believe the promotional material, is the holder of a PhD in Advanced Mathematics and a professor at one of the top universities in England. The system that 7 Day Winners uses for selecting winners is claimed to have a strike rate of 74% on win bets and 86% on each way however it is worth noting that Yuri Belyanev provides no proofing of this. This could potentially be overlooked however the foundation of the formula that 7 Day Winners uses isn’t explored outside of a statement that it was developed with a colleague with a view to identifying horses that have been undervalued by the bookies. SmartSigger is released monthly as a PDF with typically 36 pages full of information pertaining to horse racing. Many of the articles in SmartSigger are by guest authors and have a strong emphasis on statistical analysis and a mathematical approach. Because of this SmartSigger is not a light read, but The Anonymous Ginger has put together that can really help readers to improve their betting strategies. By allowing guest writers in SmartSigger has been able to cover a massive variety of topics from looking at ANNs (artifical neural networks) and their place in horse racing betting to information on how to program your own horse racing robot. Power of 3 is a tipster service providing sports tips in three different fields. These are tennis, rugby and football with each discipline having tips come from a different tipster. George Maguire says that this approach has allowed Power of 3 to produce an 88% strike rate on 5-15 bets per day (with said bets being sent out before 11am). Bets seem to all be win bets although it does state in the headline on the Power of 3 promotional page that this is a lay betting service. As mentioned, George Maguire doesn’t claim to come up with selections and these are handled by Aaron Richards, Thomas Wilkins and Martin Barclay-Robinson. These men are respectively a tennis coach, a player for a small rugby club and a long term football punter with each man allegedly being the top of their respective games on a forum Martin Maguire frequented. Patrick Ross and GK provide 40 plus selections per month for a number of different sports. These have a focus on MLB, NBA and NFL but there are also selections for niche sports such as cricket, snooker and darts. Many of these selections are based on the knowledge of GK who Patrick Ross says used to work for a bookmaker specialising in American Sports. This combined with the time the eponymous Patrick Ross has spent on his tennis service means that Patrick Ross Betting looks to be in pretty good hands. The only possible concern that I have lies in the lack of information on things like a strike rate due to no results being published as a result of it being so new. Read more

Operated by “John Doe” (an obvious pen name), The Daily Tip Off offers subscribers a daily tip that has been whittled down from a large sample group.

What is the product?

At the centre of The Daily Tip Off is John Doe, a tipster of sorts who claims to have connections with 30 of the biggest and top punters in the game. Because of this connection he says that he is privy to their own selections. By taking this information and applying it to a formula that is unique to The Daily Tip Off (and is in turn based on the methods that the afore mentioned punters use) he is able to narrow down all these selections to one that is most likely to win. Despite this method, The Daily Tip Off has a strike rate of around 36% according to John Doe. As well as the winning selection The Daily Tip Off also provides the runner up with the reasons that the winner was chosen. This allows you to also back the runner up if you so choose as well as allowing you to make an informed decision. Read more
