Created by a programmer known only as Kevin on his website, Horse Racing Rates, Horse Racing Renegade is a piece of software that identifies selections for races on a daily basis.
What is the product?
Horse Racing Renegade is a downloadable application (note that it is only Windows compatible) that follows a unique set of rules to try and identify winning horses for the days races. Horse Racing Renegade stats by finding races that have 10 or less runners in which all the horses have at least 3 races worth of data behind them. After this the process is kept secret by Kevin however based on the fact that it draws on previous races my guess would be a form based rating system. When you search Horse Racing Renegade shows all the races, times and horses to back in a list format. Whatever formula Kevin actually employs for Horse Racing Renegade, it produces massively varied results with horses having odds of Betfair of anything from 2.0 to 67. This does unfortunately produce a somewhat disappointing strike rate with the proofing for Horse Racing Renegade allowing me to calculate 18.8% to date. The bets that you place seem to be mostly each way or place bets with a level staking system. It is worth noting at this point that as proofing only goes back to December it remains to be seen whether Horse Racing Renegade will do better in the new year.
What is the investment vs. the rate of return?
There are no monthly subscription fees for using Horse Racing Renegade with Kevin charging a flat rate of £39.99 (allegedly a reduction on the usual price of £59.99) which buys you a one year license. Kevin says that as Horse Racing Renegade is a digital product there is no money back guarantee in place as there is no physical product that can be returned. In terms of profits, December saw 250.05 points which is a fantastic start for something like this. With that in mind this is only one month of results and there have been definite ups and downs over the month due to the nature of selections.
Does the product provide value for money?
I feel that Horse Racing Renegade has plenty of potential however I do think that it’s early days to be recommending this as a service.
Conclusion
The biggest issue with Horse Racing Renegade is not the program itself, nor the service it provides. In fact, from what I’ve seen neither is bad. It is just the fact that Horse Racing Renegade is a very new service. Whilst it is cheap enough in the grand scheme of things, the lack of a money back guarantee only compounds my fears about it. One month of proofing is better than nothing, but it certainly isn’t enough to be jumping on a band wagon over. A losing streak of 11 losses shows that there is definitely room for error in Horse Racing Renegade. With that in mind I would wait to see whether or not the program can continue to perform before getting too involved.
