What is the product?
Social Lead Freak is a downloadable application (compatible with both Windows and Mac) that allows users to search for groups on Facebook based off keywords. Social Lead Freak then takes the user ID’s of the people within that group and exports them to a spreadsheet that you can then use for targeted marketing. The fact that you are targeting groups who have an existing interest in your products will, according to Ali G and Marcus Lim, provide you with a huge boost in sales. Social Lead Freak is a simple enough piece of software to use from what I have seen and it is definitely capable of doing what it says on the tin.
What is the investment vs. the rate of return?
There are three packages for Social Lead Freak which are the Light Package, Standard Package and Pro Package. These retail for $97, $147 and $247 respectively with the only difference being in the number of licences that you get. The Light Package allows you to run Social Lead Freak on one machine, the Standard Package allows you to use three copies where the Pro Package allows you an unlimited number for you and your potential customers if you are a developer. In terms of income, Ali G and Marcus Lim don’t discuss this but Social Lead Freak seems to be pretty well designed to increase sales figures with the correct marketing.
Does the product provide value for money?
I feel that if you are buying a single license then Social Lead Freak may well represent value for money however unless you are a developer I am not certain what the benefits of buying multiple licenses is.
Conclusion
Social Lead Freak seems to genuinely do what is advertised which is something of a rarity in internet marketing products. There may however be issues, namely surrounding the terms of Facebook’s policies on this kind of thing and that is well worth researching further before purchasing. All in all if you want to run very targeted marketing campaigns through Facebook I feel that Social Lead Freak will help you to get the most for your money but this is a very specific type of product.
